Course Description: Overview of the diverse societies of Latin America from an anthropological perspective.  Explores cultural, economic, political and religious aspects of life in the region; urbanization and urban life; migration and transnationalism; indigenous peoples and their role in recent political transformations in the region; the war on drugs.
